How consumers from Spain use social for shopping
[ 20.02.2015 ]
eMarketer expects there to be 19.3 million social network users in Spain this year, representing 40.1% of residents and 59.7% of internet users. Based on a study from Interactive Advertising Bureau Spain (IAB Spain), conducted by ELOGIA in December 2014, these consumers won’t be purchasing via such platforms any time soon. However, social still plays a big part in users’ path to purchase.
Among social network users in Spain, just 12% reported having ever bought something through a social network. However, and perhaps more importantly, 70% said that social platforms indeed influenced the purchasing process. This was particularly true for clothing and footwear, travel and books. Users don’t just stumble upon the information on social either—they’re proactive. Fully 39% said they usually looked for information on a social network before making online purchases.
