Android mantains its first position on France smartphones market

Android continues to account for the lion’s share of smartphone users in France, based on a recent report from the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), “Le Baromètre Trimestriel du Marketing Mobile en France - Juin 2015 - 10ème edition.” -
Citing comScore MobiLens data, MMA reported that the number of Android smartphone users in France totaled 22.0 million in Q1 2015, up 17.0% over Q1 2014 and equating to nearly two-thirds of the country’s smartphone audience. Apple’s iOS saw an annual gain just slightly above that of Android—19.4%—leaving it with a share of 22.7%. Despite an impressive year-over-year rise of nearly 30%, Windows grabbed just 8.8% of smartphone users in France, while BlackBerry continued to slide.
Kantar Worldpanel ComTech reported nearly identical shares for smartphone sales in France in March 2015. Android accounted for 64.6% of smartphone sales in the country in March 2015, while iOS grabbed 19.4%. Meanwhile, 14.1% of smartphones sold that month ran on Windows, while just 1.0% were BlackBerry.
